What a massive event the AASCF Cheer and Dance National Champs is! 

I have been shooting this event since 2018 with the Comm23 team, and the 2025 version was bigger and better than ever. It's hard to believe that over 12,000 athletes competed across the 5 days at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. There was a terrific energy across all days and a remarkable atmosphere in the halls as the teams were performing.

MelbourneSportsPhotographer2025v10 For the photographers who like stats, there is a performance every 4 minutes. Each photographer shoots approximately 200-250 images per routine. So with 15 routines per hour that's 3000-3750 images per photographer per hour.

MelbourneSportsPhotographer2025v9 It adds up to a lot of images when you consider there are 3 halls going at once, from 7.30am to 9pm. It's a major logistical undertaking that Kerry and the team at Comm23 manage each year.
