It was my pleasure to recently help out Chris from Ice Skating Victoria. Phil Louey and I went along to photograph the fund raising event where Eurovision star Hera Bjork was performing alongside some of Melbourne's leading ice skaters.

MelbourneSportsPhotographer-8507 It was a very fun evening filled with powerful music and singing, and skaters having a lot of fun on the ice.

There were both individual skating performances and group displays, and it was noticeable how much the skaters were enjoying the relaxed and fun environment. We are normally photographing them in the biggest competitions of the year, and they are often tense affairs - but this event was an evening of fun and enjoyment.

MelbourneSportsPhotographer-8673 Hera was visiting from Iceland and this was one of several performances on her Australian tour - though it was the only one where she was singing with ice skaters.

Congratulations to all the skaters, Hera Bjork, O'Brien Icehouse, and particularly the organiser, Chris Greaves, from Ice Skating Victoria. It weas a very enjoyable evening and also raised an amount of money for ice skaters. Well done all!
