It's been a busy start to 2026 with several studio shoots and the beginning of Australia's 'summer of tennis'. I was grateful for the opportunity to again photograph the Kooyong Classic.

Held at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club in Melbourne, the Kooyong Classic consists of a number of exhibition matches in the week before the Australian Open.

MelbourneSportsPhotographer2026-2050 This year we were blessed with good weather for all three days, and thankfully none of the extreme heat that Melbourne can produce in summer.

The quality of tennis was very strong, with both emerging players on their way up and some players in the 'twilight' of their competitive careers.

As well as the competitive tennis, it was great to meet up with several Melbourne based photographers. It's not often photographers gather in one place and it was nice to meet several creators who I follow on social media.

Looking forward to plenty more top quality competition at the Australian Open.
