2026 AASCF State ChampionshipsAfter a very busy few weeks travelling and shooting cheer leading and dance, the AASCF State Championships have come to and end with the completion of the SA State Champs in Adelaide. I have been working with Comm23 since 2017 to photograph each of the AASCF events in Melbourne, and this year have also travelled to shoot the WA, NSW and SA AASCF States.
These are big events running over multiple days. For example, the SA State Champs which has just finished ran across 3 days with a shorter day on Friday and then full days on Saturday and Sunday. When I say 'full days', the first routine was at 8.15am and the final one around 9pm.
The AASCF events are very high energy with routines every 3-4 minutes throughout the day. There are breaks for event scheduling purposes and prize giving, but from a photography point of view they are high volume events with a large number of images produced. Think 15-20 routines per hour and 200-250 images per routine.
Thanks to both the Comm23 and AASCF teams for a successful and enjoyable States series. Now onto Classic and then Nationals. |
