Cheer and Dance Photography

September 02, 2024

I have been photographing cheer and dance with Comm23 and AASCF since 2018. The competitions are high energy, a lot of fun, and a photographic challenge.

This year I am shooting AASCF Winterfest, Battle, State Champs in NSW, VIC and WA, and Spring Carnival. At each event there are hundreds of routines and thousands of participants. Routines last two and a half minutes and generally we will shoot between 150 and 300 images per routine. Multiply that by 15 routines per hour and 12+ hour days and the camera equipment gets a very good work out!

The AASCF events are always enjoyable and it's great to see the participants enjoying the exercise and the social connection of the events.
